Individual Battery Solutions
Jauch can manufacture the optimal battery pack solution, even for complex battery profiles. Designing a custom battery thus starts with the selection of the suitable cell sizes and cell chemistries. Custom cell developments can also be obtained.
Next, Jauch takes over the programming of the protective electronics, which shields the pack against over- or deep discharge, for example. Such electronic battery management systems are essential for lithium batteries and ensure smooth operation, even under extreme conditions.
Finally, the pack is assembled at the Jauch Headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. Once the prototypes have been successfully tested in their corresponding application, Jauch begins mass production based on the customer’s needs.
Modern Test Center
Throughout the whole development process, the battery pack is subjected to permanent tests. After all, lithium is classified as a hazardous material and is subject to strict regulations that vary from country to country and industry to industry. As a battery manufacturer with over 40 years of worldwide experience, Jauch is very familiar with these different certification standards. In its in-house test center, Jauch puts battery packs through their paces in accordance with the various certification standards (UN 38.3, ATEX, CE, UL, RoHs, REACH). Thanks to state-of-the-art test equipment, Jauch can carry out all the tests required by the UN 38.3 regulation for the transport of lithium batteries itself. These include thermal and climatic stress tests as well as impact and vibration tests.
Battery solutions from Jauch are therefore not only powerful, but also reliable and safe. In addition, they meet all regulatory requirements regarding transport and distribution.
Broad Product Portfolio
However, Jauch is not only strong in development, but also has a range of lithium batteries in standardized sizes. The portfolio includes CR lithium and ER lithium thionyl chloride batteries as well as lithium ion and lithium polymer battery packs. All batteries are available in various standardized sizes and with different voltages and capacities. Jauch has developed several special lithium polymer battery designs, notably curved and ultra-thin designs with a thickness of only 0.5 millimeters. Thanks to this flexibility, even at an advanced stage of the project, the right design can be found for numerous battery powered applications.
